[PC/LIFE] Lenovo should have prepared better for this! >:O
Le sigh.

So I had some partially self-inflicted grand adventures with my Lenovo 3000 G530 notebook a couple of months ago. I thought all the lulz was done and over with but nope! It's still going but this time it's 100% THEM not me.

The problem now is about the FREE Windows 7 upgrade. (And that's like FREE for US customers only cuz the rest of us have to pay for shipping. :P Well, I assume people in the US get free shipping. I dunno. Regardless, it ain't $0!)

For a while there, their punkass request form as well as the entire system was fucked up. People that registered their serial number and such (like yours truly) couldn't even complete the damn process of requesting for an upgrade because it would KEEP insisting that the serial wasn't registered and that you had to register + provide proof of purchase.

Turns out the geniuses over at Lenovo never added all the registered serials into the database or something.

So once that was done, I actually managed to get to the end of the form and received the notice that I was to send them the purchase invoice or whatever to prove that I indeed bought the notebook that I want Windows 7 for.

I scanned the receipt and sent it off over 2 months ago and NEVER received a confirmation. I sort of forgot about it after a while and eventually just shrugged at the whole thing seeing how poorly Lenovo handled everything.

It just got to the point that I really couldn't care if I got the upgrade or not. Of course, I submitted my credit card info and do not expect to see a charge on it as I never received the bloody Win7 disc.

Today, I received an automated e-mail from them:
Due to unprecedented demand, we are behind schedule in processing Windows 7 upgrade orders for IdeaPad and IdeaCentre systems. We expect to complete processing of your order by mid to late November. Once your order is ready, we will send you instructions to complete your transaction on-line. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience.

........

Lame.

Not sure I ever want to buy another laptop by this company ever again.
